Juan delGado is interested in aligning a lived experience of the world with intuitive approach to art practice and theory; in making work that examines and transcends reason through rational means. He is interested in researching facts not as self evident objects in the world but as processes, in the complicated mediations by which facts acquire their immediacy. In his work, Juan explores the relationship between the Moving Body, the landscape and the city. As a flaneur, he wanders around with no prefixed route leaving the accidental encounter to occur; fusing reality with fiction in an attempt to bring up the hidden stories where the rigor of fact finding ruptures into the speculative, subjective, and cinematic through a critical usage of film documentation that fuses reality with highly authored situations.

Juan DelGado
Since his graduation in 2002, delGado works on in-situ projects without any bias ideas. Through his art practice, Juan examines the theme of territory, the city and how the individual interacts with it. He is interested in the hidden narratives waiting to be unfolded through a phenomenological approach. His methodology is based on a highly intuitive perception of the subject which leads to an experiential and also unpredictable outcome; as his projects grow in an organic manner, in this 'modus operandi' Juan acknowledges a degree of failure. His work is wide ranging, from architectural cinematic installations to more personal experimental, contemplative video works, photography and web projects.
